Ayatollah Javadi Amoli Mourns Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani, Says He Spent a Century Serving Quran and Ahl al-Bayt

Hawzah News Agency- In a message released on Monday, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said the demise of the senior cleric represented a "grievous religious and cultural loss" for the Muslim world, particularly for Shia Islam.

"Indeed, we belong to God, and to Him we shall return."

The passing of the high-ranking religious authority Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani is a grievous religious and cultural loss.

He was an illustrious jurist who comprehended the fundamental pillars of Imami jurisprudence, trained pivotal figures and enduring teachers, authored precious works, and spent a century in the company of the Quran, the Ahl al-Bayt and the guidance of the people.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli's tribute comes as tributes continue to pour in from across the Islamic world following the death of Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani, one of the most senior sources of emulation for Shia Muslims.

The late cleric, who was born in the Iranian holy city of Qom in 1928, dedicated nearly his entire life to the study, teaching and advancement of Islamic jurisprudence, earning recognition among his peers as one of the foremost researchers of Shia Islam in the contemporary era.

Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani was widely respected for his meticulous scholarship, his mastery of the various disciplines related to the deduction of religious rulings, and his humble, fatherly conduct toward seminary students and scholars.

Leaders of the Islamic Revolution, including Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, have also offered their condolences, praising the late cleric as a "meticulous and profound researcher" whose loss has created a gap among the foremost Shia researchers of the present age that may take a long time to fill.
